The term "coaxial" refers to the arrangement of a reciprocating compressor and its working resource. In compressors of this type, the motor shaft and the shaft of the compressor head are united by a common axis, from which they rotate with the same number of revolutions. That is, the head of the compressor and the engine operate at the same speed. With such equipment, first, you can win in compactness, and secondly, in action, because the belt drive slows the rotation of the engine.



If it is necessary to increase the capacity, the compressors are equipped with double pistons with a V-shaped arrangement of the cylinders. At the same time, if two cylinders operating simultaneously on the same shaft are installed in the compressor, this is a multi-cylinder single-stage compressor: the air, compressed in the cylinders, enters the receiver. In a multi-stage compressor, the compressed air flows sequentially from one cylinder to another. This technique is more powerful, and its productivity is greater, so that the perforator or grinder can easily provide compressed air.
